10 Things Wrong With This 50 Best Rappers List

There was a 50 Best Rappers of all time list that came out on Monday. It got everyone confused, angry……………………… Mostly confused! Whoever wrote this was obviously trolling everyone on Twitter just for fun. If this person was serious though, let’s look at 10 things that make this list total garbage.

10. Lupe Fiasco Just Cracking the Top 20

Atlantic Records – Uploaded on October 26th, 2019

It depends on what you think of Lupe, but there is a case for him whether he made the Top 20 or not. He could be a little higher because of his flow, his political views, his growth as a lyricist through the years, and being the pioneer of the conscious hip-hop movement. At the same time, there is an argument that he shouldn’t be higher than Ice Cube, Snoop, and Jeezy. Yes his impact of the genre is big, but it’s not as big as those artists. So it’s a toss up.

9. Slick Rick, NOT ON THE LIST!

OfficialSlickRick – Uploaded on October 8th, 2009

How do you have a best rappers of all time list and not include the best storytellers in rap. Slick Rick’s songs have been sampled over 600 times. He is more than just a rapper, he’s a narrator in life. He pays attention to the little but impactful details. Every lyric is perfect as it gets and he has influenced rappers like Eminem and Kanye. So this is a crime not only against rap, but against humanity.

8. How Do You Determine A List Like This?

No seriously, how? What factors were you putting in place? You should look at the list through there discography, influence, accolades, records, flow, lyrics, etc.. You can’t just pick 50 names out of hat like that

7. Lil Wayne is on This List

Lil Wayne Channel – March 10, 2011

Look, Lil Wayne is good. His discography is memorable and his fan base is leaps and bounds over a lot of the rappers on this list. The quality of his music has gotten worse and worse with each and every album. The lyrics aren’t there, he has become kind of a comedy act. You can’t argue with results like this. Lil Wayne don’t need a list like this, it’s most likely that a legitimate list will come, and he might be on it.

6. Andre 3000 over Big Boi

Outkast Channel – April 26th, 2013

How does this make sense? Big Boi is obviously a better rapper than Andre 3000. Together they’re perfect, but apart Big Boi wins because fo his flow, his creativity, and his ability to get the best rappers on his albums. Andre 3000, (No offense), should not be on this list. His only qualifiable song was, “Hey Ya,” and that’s really classified as a pop song. Hell should Big Boi even be on this list?

5. Lloyd Banks is on the List!

Lloyd Banks Channel – Uploaded on October 8th, 2009

Lloyd Banks does not belong on this list. Plain and simple. Lloyd Banks, who has two memorable songs. Lloyd Banks the least memorable member of G-Unit. Look Lloyd Banks is a great mixtape artist, there is no doubt, but there were a lot of artists left that deserve to be on the list for more reasons then Lloyd Banks can give.

4. Ice Cube and Eminem Not in the Top 20!

Marshall Rap7 – Uploaded on January 24th, 2019

This is dumb. Are you really telling people that Eminem and Ice Cube don’t belong in the Top 20. Ice Cube, one of the founding artists of gangsta rap, and Eminem one of the selling artists of all time. This is a middle finger to both of these artists.

3. No Female Rappers

Ms. Lauryn Hill – Uploaded on June 23rd, 2010

Missy Elliot, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Lil Kim, Remy Ma, Da Brat, Queen Latifah, MC Lyte. These are the names that didn’t make it, but should have! There’s no excuse for this. It seems that whoever wrote this either forgot about these women, or is just sexist, you’re choice.

2. Biggie and Tupac not in the Top 3

The Notorious B.I.G. – Uploaded on September 6th, 2011

There is no excuse for this. These two are the biggest rappers ever and somehow they don’t crack the Top 3. Biggie didn’t make the Top 5, Tupac wasn’t in the Top 10. Nas is one of the greats, but not when these two existed, and Jay-Z is the best writers, but should not be #1. Let’s do this real quick before #1, the Top 5 best rappers:

  1. Tupac
  2. Biggie
  3. Jay-Z
  4. Nas
  5. Rakim

1. Joe Budden is #3

Joe Budden TV – Uploaded on September 8th, 2015

Well at we least we know who wrote the list now. This list is the biggest waste of time this year. It felt useless, writing this felt pointless. This was content gold though, so thank you! I love to hear your opinions, comment when your not living your best life!

5 Songs That Describe All These F%$^ing Mass Shootings!

Two days, two mass shootings………………. Everything is fine right? Let’s look at some songs that easily describe the mass shootings that have happened recently.

Let me start by saying that………… come the f&$% on people. Just because the 2nd Amendment is so important to protect that everyone should have an assault weapon? This isn’t a tradition thing, it’s about protecting the people that can’t even feel safe at a f&%^king garlic festival. Get rid of the assault weapons.

5. “Mad World,” Gary Jules

Orijimi – Uploaded on January 9, 2006

Because it’s truly a mad world, when we have to live in a world of paranoia every single day.

4. “Last Resort,” Papa Roach

Malakort – Uploaded on April 23, 2014

As much as every GOP, or NRA member, or the President tells you, “Nothing’s alright, Nothing is fine.”

3. “Indoors,” SpongeBob Squarepants

TruderM – Uploaded on May 14, 2016

You might as well stay indoors, because you can’t even go to a Walmart without the fear of getting shot by some crazy racist a%$hole. Also shoutout to @JonTheSinner, he wrote a tweet and it gave me this idea.

2. “When You Wish Upon a Star,” Cliff Edwards

DisneyMusics – Uploaded on July 31, 2012

This is what you want. The child like innocence that you used to have, that all children used. In reality when you wish upon a star, you don’t get your wish come true.

  1. “FDT (F%$^ Donald Trump) YG & Nipsey Hussle
WORLDSTARHIPHOP – Uploaded on April 18, 2016

Because this is where it all started, not even when he got elected, (Not by us, the electoral college), it started when he got the Republican nomination, no not even that, when he announced he was running. Donald Trump has influenced the worst kind of people to commit violent acts all over the damn country. Donald Trump supports groups like the KKK and the NRA, who are terrorists groups. Donald Trump thinks that there are many sides to all of this. There’s only one side, these hateful white supremacists who think there making a statement, trying to send this country back 200 years, trying to make America, “Great Again,” first of all this country was fine before all of Trump’s bulls%&t. Secondly, if you think this is OK, then you’re no better than ISIS, or Al Qaeda, or the Taliban. You think thousands of people in the military are fighting for all the psychopathic stuff, hell no. This song not only proves that Donald Trump is the worst person ever, but YG, Nipsey Hussle, and every artist that made protest songs about Trump were RIGHT!

Album Review: “Care Package,” by Drake

“Care Package,” is a compilation album of his best songs of Drake’s career that were never really officially released and might of came out as just one-off singles. It’s an album full of songs that should have been hits honestly, but songs that were kind of forgotten.

There are 17 songs on this album, and honestly most of them are bangers. It features some songs that went hard such as, “5 AM in Toronto,” to the somewhat deep songs such as, “How About Now.” There were certain songs that were trending this morning when the album came out such as, “The Motion,” “Dreams Money Can Buy,” “Jodeci Freestyle,” featuring J. Cole and the Chance the Rapper diss, “Draft Day.” Personally, “Girls Love Beyoncé,” and “Paris Morton Music,” were pure loosies.

Although this album contains great songs, there is the thought that it might just be a cash grab is there. It’s not too comparable to Kendrick Lamar’s, “DAMN,” in reverse, but it’s an album with a bunch of re-releases that with the star power of Drake, could expect to be a hit. Like when a famous band releases a bunch of demos from long ago. Also the nostalgia factor might be there, but his career hasn’t really gone on that long. His first mixtape came out in 2006, but his first album came out in 2010. So his songs aren’t old enough to pine for yet.

But in the end it will create some flashbacks for people and it will create some remembrance. This also begs the question, why weren’t these tracks left behind? That might not be the case anymore, these tracks might end up going #1, this album might go #1 and will definitely go platinum. These songs are obviously worth listening to considering that half of the album was trending this morning.

With all that being said though, I give it 2 1/2 stars.

Although this is a good compilation of songs that should have been hits and it will probably go #1 whether you like it or not. There is still the chance that this is a complete cash grab and at the same time, and you probably heard plenty of these songs before multiple times. Also would you rather hear this, or a mixtape featuring new songs that will definitely go #1 without a reasonable doubt and make your party non-stop? Rhetorical, but still a good album, and this coming from a person who doesn’t like Drake too much. So listen to, “Care Package,” on Spotify if you haven’t already.

The Vault: Dubstep, A Message to the Alien Overlord Xenu, (Original Date 1/16/16)

“So this was my second post on the Broke Man site. Yes I am an atheist, but I try not to be an ass about it. This was not the case, mostly because Scientology can be a little ridiculous. Look I don’t care what religion you are, accept it a part of yourself, I don’t want anything to do with it. I don’t have to agree with you, but don’t bitch about it.”

Dubstep has been described as a type of Electronic dance music that has a combination of broken beat, drum and bass, and reggae. Every dubstep song sounds like alien music. It sounds like they’re sending a message to somebody. Like they’re trying to make contact with some sort of alien overlord. The only alien overlord that comes to mind is xenu, the god of scientology. It has some sort of connection, scientology and dubstep are connected somehow.
First of all scientology is a religion that addresses the spirit more than the body. Made by L. Ron Hubbard when he left World War II, he wrote 5,000 writings on this. Scientologists believe that a alien named xenu came to the planet, but whoops, landed in a volcano, then his parts, (Hubbard believed it was a male), spread out and eventually mutated into human life (cannot make this s%^t up). This has been dexribed as a cult by France, smart country. they also try to make more financial advances than any other religion.
So what does dubstep have to do with it? The way it sounds can suggest alien contact. The biggest example of this is Skrillex. Before he teamed up with Diplo and formed Jack U, for a while was part of the scientology movement.  His parents are both scientologists and went to an L.A. Arts academy based on the teachings of L. Ron Hubbard. A big example of Skrillex taking this seriously is “Scary Monster and Nice Spirits.” It’s obviously a call to him, the lyrics are backwards but they say, “I’m just like you, you don’t need to hide, for I’m just like You.” He’s saying he’s a part of xenu in a way. Just listen to the song,

Skrillex Channel – Uploaded on October 23, 2010

Skrillex seemed like he was renouncing his faith when he teamed up with diplo, the song, “Where are you now,” seemed to have proved that without Justin Bieber or the teenaged girls listening to the song actually knowing about it. Or it could be skrillex weird way of trying to recruit new members to the cult. Skrillex is 26, scientology needs a younger spokes person and to get younger people to join this religion. Tom Cruise and John Travolta are too old to get new younger members. To be fair they could have gotten the green lantern as a spokes person, I’ll leave you to think about that.
After Skrillex though there seems to be a following. here’s a video as an example by some guy named iamxenu:

ypislon – Uploaded on September 13, 2011

This person seems to be following xenu and that’s his/her gift to xenu.

Does all of this sound like an overreaction, maybe, but it could be true? Music is a spiritual thing, this religion is built upon spirit. It doesn’t mean that all music is scientology related. this genre just seems to be the closest thing to a big description of xenu and a saying. Unfortunately, scientology is not ending and will continue to rip off the biggest idiots who believe it, (acting isn’t that hard). More and more dubstep artists create a séance for the lord xenu in hopes that he will return and forgive us for our sins, (sorry that might be Christianity).

Who Will Stop Lil Nas X?

I’m gonna write this while smoking this UK Cheese Flower, you can get this at Kind Love Dispensary, located at 4380 E Alameda Ave, Denver, CO 80246, open 7 days a week, 10:00 AM to 11:45 PM

Someone please stop this! If you follow me on Twitter, you noticed I have been whining about this for a while. That’s because this meme has been #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for a historic 17 weeks. This is a thing that has gone on way too far. Multiple remixes have been going on and a lot of people giving there opinion on how this will keep going to the end of the world. This song should not be the last song you the human race, so before we hear an, “Old Town Road,” remix featuring Numan Cole, (First digital prophet from the year 1 million, follow him on Instagram @numancole, https://www.instagram.com/numancole/). CAN ANYONE SAVE US? Here are 5 potential, “Saviors,” that could knock off Lil Nas X, and prevent THE END OF THE WORLD! The following names are also why I’m high as Snoop Dogg in Amsterdam.

5. Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift Channel – Uploaded on April 26th, 2019

Yes, Taylor Swift. We need another one of your power hits that destroy your enemies. It destroyed Katy Perry, and it could destroy Lil Nas X! Please Taylor, do whatever you need to do, do another song about yourself, go through another personality change, if anybody can dethrone Lil Nas X it would be you.

4. Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish Channel – Uploaded on March 29th, 2019

Of course! Lil Nas X is a country rapper, why not an emo pop star!? Billie Eilish can save the day with her unique style of baggy clothes and soft lyrics. She doesn’t aim to be somebody, she wants to be her own………. body!(?). She is a truth speaker, can compare to a real audience, relate to people with depression, and she lives that vegan life, GOD BLESS! Let’s face it you will never dress like Lil Nas X, (Don’t f&%$ with me you won’t), it’s easier to look like Billie Eilish and with a remix with Justin Bieber, she’s closer than anyone! All we need is one more remix, c’mon Billie, make, “Bad Guy,” featuring Beyoncé happen, this is for human kind dammit!

3. Daddy Yankee

Lusi Fonsi Channel – Uploaded on January 13th, 2017

And no this is not because my head feels like if Arizona State and UC Santa Cruz had a party where Walter White produces meth, Daddy Yankee can save the entire world. For he does not have 1 hit song like Lil Nas X, he has…….. 2 hit songs. For nobody remembers the tale of, “Gasolina,” but everybody in the Generation of Z will tell there grandchildren of, “Despacito,” (Yes this is technically Luis Fonsi’s song, but who cares about the facts you f%$&ers). Daddy Yankee could today’s King Arthur, pull the sword out of the rock and sleigh the beast that is, “Old Town Road.”

2, Chance The Rapper

Chance The Rapper Channel – Uploaded on July 26th, 2019

Or you know, someone with talent? You know, someone that actually treats there music and lyrics as an artform rather than a meme. Somebody with the most hyped album of the decade. Somebody that could find real features. C’mon we’ve been waiting for this for a long time, one his songs has to be #1 right?

1. Billy Ray Cyrus

Lil Nas X Channel – Uploaded on May 17th, 2019

Why didn’t we think of this before? It’s been right under our noses the entire time! Billy Ray Cyrus’s career could be revived because of this, and no I’m not saying this because I’m as high as when SpongeBob and Patrick were high on the orb of confusion.

This is a career renaissance for Billy Ray Cyrus. This song will do what his children never did. So f&$%, eat s%$t Noah, and Trace, Metro Station was awesome please come back, because Billy Ray Cyrus is restoring his, “Acky Breaky Heart,” and get out of that, “Old Town Road,” into the hearts of every piece of white trash, until he gets a #1. I went way too far with this joke didn’t I.

Woodstock 50 Is Gonna Suck!

Man oh man, this is not looking good! So the 50th anniversary of one of the greatest music and peace festivals ever, Woodstock. The festival producer Michael Lang is trying to capture the magic that the show he produced 50 years ago had. Now it seems he’s struggling to keep the show going. Everything that went wrong did with this festival. Dentsu Aegis, the chief financer pulled out and the production tram Superfly left there after, mostly because of the poor planning of the water, sanitation, and the permits. Dentsu then announced the show’s cancellation and Lang said he didn’t have the authority to say that. He also said that the artists were paid, but who the hell is believing. Lang sued Dentsu for $18 Million, but lost because Lang didn’t reach the contractual production milestones. Then the venue pulled out after the organizers failed to pay $150,000. They tried to move the event to Vernon, but the permit got denied. Then another production group left. So now they’re in Maryland, but that’s why Jay-Z and John Fogerty got the hell out of there, (Good call Black Keys, you are obviously much smarter than most)! The show is now a free event, and they released every confirmed act before they violate multiple breaches of contract. So it seems likes there’s only one thing we learned here, Michael Lang isn’t that good of a festival producer.

Woodstock was Michael Lang’s baby, there is nothing he will do better than the original Woodstock. This festival also had it’s setbacks. Let’s not forget that Woodstock was originally going to be in Wallkill, after that got shut down, Saugerties opposed the project. They were lucky to get Bethel, after telling the authorities that there would be 50,000 people attending, the same thing they told Saugerties. The festival got approved despite town’s people trying to shut down Max Yeager’s dairy farm. Then people just randomly walked through the gaps and holes of the gates. The sound and design were OK surprisingly. The event went great, even Max Yeager who was expecting there to be riots, saw it as a, “Victory of peace and love.” This event that became the symbol of hope for America’s problems, bankrupt the promoters, but luckily they owned the film and recording rights and they released the 1970 documentary, “Woodstock,” that would compensate them.

Woodstock 79 was OK, but why the hell would you have the event in Madison Square Garden, kind of takes away the point. Also, there was a Woodstock reunion in Suffolk County. At least this festival was more remembered than Woodstock 89′. Also known as the, “Forgotten Woodstock,” this festival invited anyone to perform, “ANYONE.” So let’s give it up for Wavy Gravy! There was also barely any commercialization. Also there was no lighting, stage, food, or beverages.

Although Woodstock 94′ went great and there were enough performers like Green Day, Sheryl Crow, and Jackyl. The amount of people that came were way more predicted or promise and the event policies were unenforceable. Woodstock 99′, gang rapes, mosh pit deaths, everything was on fire, Fred Durst. It was a cluster F%$#^

The bright spot was Woodstock 09′, the media was strong when it came to the Heart of Woodstock tour, that was the celebration they were meant to have all those years ago. A lot of the performers came back, a lot of the artists who weren’t there originally were there, it was well organized. How?

Michael Lang did something amazing in 1969 and we will never forget him as a peacemaker. He was not a f$%$ing good promoter. Ignoring policies, ignoring permits, ignoring safety and sanitation regulations, not planning ahead, not planning anything really, almost every single mistake Lang made in the past and didn’t learn from, this event was going to look like the Fyre Festival, but Fyre didn’t have 50 years of legacy to maintain.. Look Michael Lang has a good heart, there’s no lying about that, the guy wanted to create the magic that was the original Woodstock. He went on the thought that the importance and the nostalgia of the event would conquer all. Something had to hit Lang that this was going to be a business oriented event, this event was mostly going to be about money. The event was mainly trying to connect the younger crowds with Miley Cyrus and Imagine Dragons with connecting the nostalgia factor with Santana and John Sebastian. This event unfortunately was about money, Michael Lang wanted to separate that from the festival as much as possible, and should of saw that he had to play the game. If this was a different time then this free event in Maryland would be perfect, but the times, they change. How did he get Woodstock 09′, to work so well considering that mistakes were repeated and never learned from the other festivals. But who knows, this might actually work great, we might get to see surprise performances that don’t care about getting paid, maybe because of the current condition of this bullcrap country will make this event the center of peace and love. Don’t get your hopes up though. So the only advice that should be given, is go the well organized Woodstock 50th Anniversary show at the place where it all started. Ringo Starr, John Fogerty and Santana, and you might actually get a taste of what it’s like.

Let me finish this by saying that I do NOT like putting Michael Lang down, I don’t, it sucks. I do not like saying that it might ruin the legacy, as a person who has multiple books about the festival, multiple videos about the festival and went to the Woodstock Museum multiple times, but I’m putting an emphasis on, “Might,” because it probably won’t make a difference. But like a lot of people, I was hoping that this event would be the greatest festival since the first Woodstock. Hey, prove me wrong, prove multiple sources like Fortune, Forbes and Rolling Stone wrong. Go to the festival, have a great time, join hands and sing kumbaya, and show people that they can do something great, because the future is bleak, just like this festival!

Artist Profile: Maxo Kream

Maxo Kream is a rapper from, Alief, which is in Southwest Houston, Texas and it seems that everything he drops gets better and better. Mostly because of his intelligent yet self-aware lyrics that tells a great story with each and every song. But where do these lyrics come from?

Maxo Kream was born Emekwanem Ogugua Biosah, Jr. in 1990 growing up in Alief, Texas. He didn’t really begin rapping until he was in high school when he was in the group Kream Clicc. Most of his time growing up though have been through some struggles. This includes being part of the 52 Hoover Gangster Crips when growing up, his father being incarcerated for fraud for most of his teenage years, and his day-to-day life in this sub-section of Houston. Maxo started gaining fame in 2012 for Kendrick Lamar’s remix of, “Rigamortus.”

Maxo Kream Channel – Uploaded on December 19, 2011

His first mixtape, “Retro Card,” and second mixtape, “Quicc Strikes,” shot him even further up, but it wasn’t till #Maxo187 in 2016 that he started getting acclaim from XXL Magazine and Pitchfork. This mixtape would feature the cult hit, “Cell Boomin,” featuring Father, another Houston rapper.

Maxo Kream channel- Uploaded on April 1, 2015

This mixtape also features, Joey Bada$$, Fredo Santana and fellow Houston rappers, The Sauce Twinz. Maxo would come with his mixtape, “The Persona Tapes,” in 2016, but later that year in October, he would be arrested in Richmond Texas for an organized crime act. In 2018, Maxo Kream came out with his first album, “Punken.”

BLACKHAND MUSIC – Uploaded on April 16th, 2018

This album was heavily acclaimed most notably by Noisey, FACT, and The AV Club. The album features Trippie Redd, D. Flowers, and 03 Grado and, (If the lyrics, beat, and flow weren’t good enough for you), really put this album together, (And that’s the only time you’ll hear me say that about an intelligent rappers’ music).

Around June 27, 2019, he signed to Roc Nation, the label on his bio would call him

“Perhaps the last great storyteller in rap”

Roc Nation bio of Maxo Kream

Then the next month, around the 19th, he came out with his most recent and first major label album, “Brandon Banks.”

Maxo Kream – Uploaded on July 19th, 2019

This album would feature Houston’s biggest names, Travis Scott and Meghan Thee Stallion as well as featuring Schoolboy Q. This would also include producers such as Zaythoven and d.a.Doman.

Maxo Kream puts everything he is about in his music. Every mixtape or album is a chapter in the story of Maxo Kream “#Maxo187,” is a reflection of his street life and reflections of his family. “Punken,” depicts his growth and his hardships despite trying to leave the street life. “Brandon Banks,” is about how he defied the odds and left the street life, at the same time, not yet being able to get his family and friends out of poverty. It’s all gotta connect, the mixing, the mastering, the production and lyrics, and he does it in strides. He tries to make something different each and every project, at the same time, keeping the underground roots. Let’s go back to, “Brandon Banks,” although he has Zaythoven and d.a.Dohen, it would also feature local producers Teej and Ryan ESL that have been on his past mixtapes and at the sametime would feature one of the most gifted board-smiths in music Mike Dean. Also even though you know his life story through his music, he has a playful demeanor, can be really goofy, and often telling self-aware jokes throughout his music. So wants to look back at his life, while looking ahead, he uses this by cracking jokes and knowing he’s getting closer and closer to getting everybody he knows out of poverty. Also anyone who laughs at himself is f^&%ing great! You can look at his gold grin, or the trademark gap, but that doesn’t change the fact that he went through a life that a lot of people went through, and a lot of young people are going through this right now, but that’s why he’s a good role model. He can get out of that life without forgetting where he came from, because really… That’s why he is where he is. So now all we can do is wait for the next chapter. But while you’re doing that, listen to his music on Spotify and Soundcloud and follow him on Twitter, (@MAXOKREAM) and on Instagram, (@maxokream).

Album Review: “Halve,” by Hibou

Hibou is from Seattle, Washington and has a has a really great atmospheric and melodic sound. His recent album, “Halve,” came out and from what you’ll read about Hibou, this is his life’s work. This obviously shows as he seems to be making an album that every person with anxiety or depression in the 21st Century can feel. This album is very personal for that reason, for every song seems to have a connection with Hibou’s history of dissociative depersonalization disorder:, which means his mind has a frequent inability to feel connected with his body. This shows with his pop/alternative/electric/new wave sound that we’re all accustomed to, but it’s elevated in such a way, like you turned it up from 6 to 11 real quick. What this creates is a wavy, hazy, hypnotic sound that should keep you relaxed and allows you to take that well needed breath. This album was designed to make you think about what you were and who you are now. When you have albums that create a feeling of connecting with the artists, it more special, and if, “Clarity,” didn’t do it, the songs, “Inside Illumination,” and, “An Hour of Vision,” will hit you instantly. This isn’t just a album that one of your favorite artists wrote, this is a piece of music therapy. A lot of us do go through mental health issues and a lot of us, (Including myself), have used music to help us cope with any life situation and this is no exception. For these reasons, it’s 4.5/5 stars.

You can find them on Spotify, but buy this album on Bandcamp! Follow Hibou on Instagram why don’t cha

Even More Artists You Probably Forgot (Quatro)!

It’s been a year right? So throughout the years we can easily forget everyone we used to love. Nostalgia hits you hard and then you remember the songs of your youth. Then you listen to a song that you supposedly like, then you forget who sings it. Let’s go over 10 of those:

10. Ryan Cabrera

There was not a time, where girls would not stop talking about him. So Ryan Cabrera was in the band Rubix Groove, before making his solo debut independent album, “Elm. St.” “Take it All the Way,” was obviously his biggest album hitting #8 on the Billboard 200, went Double Platinum and featuring, “On the Way Down,” which peaked at #15 on the Billboard Hot 100, then followed by, “True,” and, “40 Kinds of Sadness.” He was in plenty of relationships including, Ashlee Simpson, which you’ll see on the Ashlee Simpson Show, Audrina Patridge, which you’ll see on The Hills, and one of The Veronicas, which no one ever cared about. In 2015 he formed Beyond the Sky, a musical conglomerate consisting of players, producers and vocalists from a multitude of genres, but there was really no word on his solo career……………….. Until one of my friends showed me this.

Holy crap, this si more 2000’s than that tour with B2K and Chingy! Is that Aaron Carter, oh we’ll get to him.

9. Roscoe Dash

It’s ironic in a way that this song has Soulja Boy, who should be forgotten. Roscoe Dash started rapping when he was only 12. Fame really didn’t hit him until, “All the Way Turnt Up,” not with Soulja Boy, but with Travis Porter. This obviously caused a lot of controversy, mostly because the song was mainly accredited as there’s. This was Roscoe Dash’s only hit, even though you might think, “Show Out,” was OK, but then you see him on Big Sean’s, “Marvin and Chardonnay,” and Waka Flocka Flame’s, “No Hands.” In 2012, he would be featured in XXL Freshmen Class, but as far as his musical career, all he’s doing making mixtapes and being confronted by Wale, Miguel, and Meek Mill on Twitter.

8. Iyaz

You know your music is dated when your iPod is stuck on replay. Iyaz had a very short time in the limelight. His debut album, “Replay,” in 2010 which received BPI Platinum with his three biggest songs, “Replay,” “Solo,” and, “Pretty Girls,” featuring fellow forgotten artist Travie McCoy. He would also be featured in other forgotten artists songs like Charice, New Boyz, and Mann, (Maybe it’s a good thing no one remembers him). He would make another album in 2015 called, “Aurora,” but the only song that’s somewhat halfway there to a hit was, “Alive,” featuring Nash Overstreet the lead vocals of forgotten band Hot Chelle Rae. It’s like Iyaz is accident prone!

7. Danity Kane

Since Making the Band is returning, we might as well try to remember one of the biggest things from the show that isn’t named Dylan. Danity Kane with members Audrey, Dawn, Shannon, Aundrea, and D.Woods formed on Making the Band 3. They came out with there self-named debut album under Bad Boy Records. This album would feature there first two hits, “Show Stopper,” and, “Ride for You.” There more successful album, “Welcome to the Doll House,” featured thre best song, “Damaged.” This group would become the first girl group in Billboard history to have there first two albums reach #1. They were good and could have been great, but unfortunately they never got along, and on Making the Band 4, Diddy got rid of Audrey and D. Woods. Ever since then they tried to bring back the band and released, “DK3,” featuring 3 members, Audrey, Dawn, and Shannon. This was OK, it had, “Lemonade,” and, “Rhythm of Love,” featuring Tyga, but it never had the success the older albums had. The most successful member seems to be DAWN who ended up being a part of Diddy-Dirty Money, (Should I just do another list like this next week?), and is currently having a great solo R&B career. Aubrey seemed to be the most popular member at the time. According to Variety, she says Making the Band still scars her to this day and had an intense relationship with Donald Trump Jr.. This seems to be the first time ever that Donald Trump Jr. is a downgrade from a Jersey Shore member, (Pauly D).

6. Aaron Carter

Aaron Carter was everybody from 7-13’s favorite artist, his self-named album sold a million copies, “Aaron’s Party, (Come Get It),” would sell three million albums, “On Aaron,” also went Platinum. There was not a TV show he wasn’t on, not a movie he didn’t appear in. Then for some reason, “Another Earthquake,” was the last album until 2016 with, “Love.” During this time he was going through a dark path, including getting caught multiple times with marijuana and owning millions to the IRS. He came out as bisexual, but took it back a year later saying that is was misconstrued and imagining being married to a woman and having kids. He would end up with candida and was found with a mixture of benzos and opiates. At a point he was malnourished and underweight at 115 pounds, he was then advised to go to rehab. He seems to be making a recovery at a healthier weight of 160 pounds and might be making a slight comeback.

This was a hard one, mostly because they were a band that made there debut in the 80’s and multiple hits. The band even though lasting over 40 years, were big in the 80’s with, “Kick,” being the best album featuring, “Need You Tonight,” “Never Tear Us Apart,” and, “New Sensation.” There albums from 1990 on, never reached the level the albums from the 80’s did. INXS would be nominated for multiple GRAMMYs and would win multiple VMA’s. They would always be famous in their native Australia, eventually being inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association Hall of Fame in 2001. Why does nobody talk about this band? They were unique being recognized as a new wave/ska/pop/rock band. They sold 60 Million Albums worldwide, and, “New Sensation,” is a pretty recognizable song. No one ever talks about them. One of the mysteries of life.

4. Most of the American Idol Winners

onstage during FOX’s “American Idol” Finale For The Farewell Season at Dolby Theatre on April 7, 2016 in Hollywood, California. at Dolby Theatre on April 7, 2016 in Hollywood, California.

Most American Idol winners for some reason, never end up as famous as the runner-up or in the case of Chris Daughtry, 5th place. Maybe it’s because the quality of the show was downgrading, maybe it’s because the judge changes. You figured after the move to ABC that the show would get better, but in the end like The Voice, you’re watching it for the big names are you? So let’s go over what’s happening to these winners except for Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Fantasia, and Jordin Sparks, because they seemed to have salvaged OK careers for themselves!

  • Ruben Studdard, (Season 2): Made his Broadway debut with Clay Aiken in the show, “Ruben & Clay’s First Annual Christmas Carol Family Fun Pageant Spectacular Reunion Show.”
  • Taylor Hicks, (Season 5): Debut his starting role of Charlie Anderson in the Serenbe Playhouse Production of, “Shenandoah.”
  • David Cook, (Season 7): Was in, “Kinky Boots,” but also is currently doing an acoustic tour and released a new single called, “Death of Me.”
  • Kris Allen, (Season 8): Was recently in the American Idol Live Tour while his recent release, “When All the Stars Have Died.” He also seems to be one of the best philanthropists the show ever had.
  • Lee DeWyze, (Season 9): His sixth studio album, “Paranoia,” was released on February 18th, 2016.
  • Scotty McCreery, (Season 10): “Five More Minutes,” became his first #1 single on the country singles charts.
  • Phillip Phillips, (Season 11): Headlined a tour in 2018 with Gavin DeGraw.
  • Candice Glover, (Season 12): Only album released was, “Music Speaks,” and will have a part as Tiana in, “GRITS: Girls Raised in the South.”
  • Caleb Johnson, (Season 13): Recently was a part of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra singing on, “Three Kings & I.”
  • Nick Fradiani, (Season 14): His only EP was, “Where We Left Off,” and even featured the lyric, “If you’re not tapping your foot along with him by about 12 seconds, I don’t know if there’s hope for you in the happiness department.”
  • Trent Harmon, (Season 15): Released, “You Got Em’ All,” in February 2018. He obviously got overlooked because this was the last season of the original run of the show.
  • Maddie Poppe: (Season 16): Appeared on the finale of Season 17 to advertise her album, “Whirlwind,” and the song, “Made You Miss,” would peak at #23 on the adult pop charts.
  • Laine Hardy, (Season 17): Too early to tell, but come on did you really remember who won last season, you were probably too busy trying to figure out who won on the latest season of The Voice.

3. The Third of Destiny’s Children

How do we have a blind eye for Michelle Williams? Michelle Williams was in one of the best girl groups in the history of time Destiny’s Child. Although they disbanded in 2006, Kelly Rowland managed to be a hit in the R&B, and Beyoncé………………. Well she’s F%^$ing Beyoncé. Although we often overlook when it comes to Michelle, she ended up being an important part of the Gospel, R&B scene. Michelle Williams has 4 studio albums to her name, including, “Heart to Yours,” which not only was her best album, she topped the US Gospel Chart and got her the MOBO Award for best Gospel Act. Most of her life has a singing/acting balance. In acting most of her roles were in Broadway including, “The Color Purple,” and, “Chicago,” and is currently playing Erzulie in, “Once Upon an Island.” Michelle Williams is also playing Diana Ross, (Who she is frequently compared to), in, “American Soul,” a BET series. As for her music career, she recently released the single, “Fearless,” in December, but that’s really it for now.

2. Gavin DeGraw

How did this happen? He used to be a lot of people’s favorite artist, now he’s one of your mom’s favorite artist like Jason Mraz and Daughtry. “Chariot,” featured three of his greatest hits, “I Don’t Want to Be,” “Chariot,” “and “Follow Through,” which gave him his only Platinum album in his entire career. But Gavin DeGraw, still remained a household name and still made hits such as, “in Love With a Girl,” which stuck to how good his first few hits were, and, “Not Over You,” which went more pop, but stayed with the relationship themes of his songs. It seems like every song he wrote was a love ballad of some sort. His last album was, “Something Worth Saving,” in 2016, but you can definitely hear him in your local workplace related radio station, (Mine is Lite 92.1), as well as an opening act for Billy Joel.

Before we move on, let’s look into next year! Who will be forgotten next year:

  • Nelly
  • Daughtry
  • Lenny Kravitz
  • Anyone I mentioned that wasn’t on this list
  • Far East Movement
  • The Wiggles
  • Kelly Clarkson
  • Sean Paul
  • The collaboration of Shaggy and Sting
  • Lil Nas X once the remixes are done

1. DIO

This is gonna piss people off, but I stand by it! Ronnie James Dio took fellow Black Sabbath drummer Vinny Appice and made DIO, the most underrated band in the history of time. Come on people, there debut album, “Holy Diver,” contained two of the best songs of the 80’s, “Holy Diver,” and, “Rainbow in the Dark.” They continued to sell albums with, “Last in Line,” going Platinum and, “Sacred Heart,” going Gold. Then the later albums lost quality and Ronnie James Dio ended up doing a reunion with Black Sabbath, but in 2000, they came out with, “Magica,” which is probably one of the greatest comeback albums ever! This is a band that is timeless! There music is universal, and we should treat them as one of the best metal bands of all time, and they kept going until Ronnie James Dio’s death in 2012 of stomach cancer. The band made 10 albums, and will live forever!

Tay K Got 55 Years

So it looks like Tay-K is getting 55 years in federal prison for murdering a 21-year-old man during a 2016 home invasion. In case you don’t know, Tay-K was well known for, “The Race,” in 2017 while on the run from the police. The song did reach #70 on the Billboard charts and rose to fame.. Along with the 55 years he was fined $10,000 and sentenced to 30 years for aggravated robbery and also another 13 years for two separate accounts of aggravated robbery. There were six people involved including a 15-year old girl devising a plan in which he asked Tay-K if he had any guns, he did not have any, but somehow she found some guns and she said she knew someone who was, “Trigger Happy.” Tay-K pleaded guilty to the aggravated robbery, but not the murder. Prosecutors easily said that even though he didn’t pull the trigger he was just as responsible. That’s fair, but the question remains, did he deserve jail time? Well yes, for the aggravated robbery, but not for the murder. From what’s being reported by People Magazine, this wasn’t part of the plan, and he didn’t shoot anyone. It sounds like he was an accomplice to all this, not the leader, not the supplier, he was there though. So he doesn’t deserve too much time, maybe about 20 years, but 55 years? The weird thing about all this is that the Chick-Fil-A robbing and killing of a 23-year old in 2017 wasn’t really mentioned in all this. That’s for a separate case. No, the main piece of evidence according to Genius, is the lyrics to, “The Race.”

Genius, Published on July 23rd, 2019

The suggestive lyrics, seem to be the main piece of evidence in all this, even Richard Walker, the son of Ethan Walker saying that, “The lyrics is laced with my son’s blood.” It’s true that sometimes a rappers’ lyrics will come back to bite them, but at the same time, he’s a 16-yeat-old kid, it shouldn’t be too hard to think that some of his lyrics are exaggerated. Can’t be blamed though that his lyrics would be used against him, This song was based on this scenario, including the verse, “I-I-I woke up too moody, who gon’ die today (Skrrt, Skrrt)?” At the same time he’s a stupid kid, who got insanely big, the Cash Me Outside girl should get as much as Tay-K and her lyrics suggest that she did worse and she da baddest bitch. It’s hard to tell if he should be in jail this long because of these lyrics, but really it shouldn’t determine Tay-k’s entire life. Whether this is right or wrong, this is happening, and right at the peak of this career, after, “The Race,” he came out with banger, after banger, after banger. Now he’s going to spend most of his life in jail. So what will happen to him when he gets out, well it seems like he’ll rap about his experiences. Can’t wait for that!
